These additives indeed add a smooth and silky feel, but are prone to breakdown and can harbor molds, yeasts and bacteria. Mineral make-up allows your skin to breathe. They lie on top of the skin in overlapping sheets, and do not clog pores. They are water-resistant, and so are the perfect choice for sports activities and humid climates. Our mineral make-up contains all natural micronized Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide which provides sun protection without irritating chemicals. These ingredients are non-allergenic and offer a sun protection screen for both UVA and UVB protection around SPF 18 to 25. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Belle Saison's Mineral Make-up should be used very sparingly. Our foundation powders are extremely intense and only require a small amount of product. It takes practice to adjust to the application of Mineral powder make-up. If you have over applied, your face will look powdery. If it streaks, you have applied too soon after moisturizing. Start by shaking a small amount of powder into the cap and use your flocked sponge, kabuki or dome brush to pick a small amount up. If using one of the brushes, gently "tap" the end of the handle onto your counter to load the brush, then tap any excess off into the cap. Swirl onto face and brush in a circular motion. If more coverage is needed, repeat above steps until you have the coverage you desire. If you are used to liquid foundations, mix our daytime moisturizer (or emu-oil if you are dry this also adds a lovely glow and much-needed oil to dry skin), to a little bit of the powder and blend to the desired color and consistency, then apply to the face just as you would apply any liquid make-up. Mineral Powder make-up is good for rosacea, acne, oily or dry skin conditions, and each color is able to fit a wide range of skin shades. The ingredient mica, in addition to allowing a wide variety of shades possible, will cause fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes to appear to vanish due to light refraction. We have encountered no allergic reactions due to mica. The irritating ingredient in most mineral powder make-up is the bismuth oxychloride, and although some women can get by without bismuth causing breakouts or rashes, most women will agree that the make-up that does not contain bismuth is more soothing. Choose your shade below! *Our dispensable powder brush is both portable and convenient. A truly wonderful product! Or add the 100% goat hair kabuki brush for dry application. (best for normal, blemish-free skin, or light to med. coverage) Just wash kabuki or dome brushes out monthly with a mild shampoo, rinse and dry laying down on a fresh towel, or in the case of the kabuki, stand upright. Choose the loose mineral base in your color. Use your damp flocked sponge to pick up a small amount of foundation, and apply some onto the areas that need extra coverage. Then use the flocked sponge, or kabuki brush to swirl the powder onto your skin in a thin layer. If more coverage is desired, keep layering. (Using a damp flocked sponge for your application will increase the coverage.) Allow to completely dry before adding setting powder &/or blush. If using the kabuki brush, gently pick the powders up on the brush and tap the handle on a counter to distribute the powder into the brush (called "loading the brush"), then apply as directed. |
